Immunization Program

Immunization Program

In order to use our resources appropriately, and provide optimum services to our students, the following criteria must be met in order to qualify for immunizations at no charge (subject to change):

ALL Health Science students wishing to receive immunizations from FCC Health Service must come to our office for a titer referral.

All students wanting immunizations will obtain titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chickenpox), and Hepatitis B.

Once disease immunity is established, Health Service can provide the student with MMR and Hepatitis AB (our immunization has Hepatitis A as well as Hepatitis B), based upon need as indicated by titer results.

Students needing Varicella boosters will be given a list of providers in the community that provide this vaccine. Unfortunately, we do not have the storage capacity for this vaccine.

Tdap is available. We prefer to see an immunization record to verify need. Individual cases vary, so it is best to call Health Service to make an appointment for a nurse consult.

Flu vaccine is no charge to currently registered students, and is available during flu season while supplies last.

Other qualifying criteria:

Students must be currently registered within the semester of services rendered, or show acceptance letters from their individual programs.

A disease titer for MMR, Varicella and Hep B will cost $103. We have an agreement with a local laboratory for this price; they do not accept private insurance with this referral. Please call the Health Service office to make an appointment to obtain a written referral.
