The 3rd Annual Asian Pacific Islander Celebration of Success (APICS) will be held on:
Friday, May 5, 2017, in the West Courtyard of the Old Administration Building.
Ceremony: 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Students who wish to Thank their family and friends will be allowed up to one minute. Please indicate in the appropriate section of the registration form if you wish to speak.
Students who are graduating with an Associate’s Degree, completing a Certificate Program, or transferring to a four-year college or university. Students who completed their studies in Fall 2016, or who will complete their studies in Summer 2017, are also encouraged to participate.
Students will receive a special sash as a gift from the Asian Faculty and Staff Association to commemorate both the event and their achievement. In addition, students will receive a special certificate in recognition of their success.
No cap and gown is required, but students are asked to dress in formal attire. Alternatively, students are encouraged to dress in formal attire representative of their culture.
FAMILY MEMBERS AND GUESTS:
Admission to the celebration is free of cost. Please indicate the number of guests as accurately as possible on the registration form so that the APICS Committee can plan appropriately.
Refreshments will be provided.
Guests with Hearing Impairments: Sign-language interpretation services will be available throughout the celebration and an interpreter will be positioned on stage.
Handicapped seating will be available.
ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER CELEBRATION OF SUCCESS PICTURES:
Official photographs of the event, and of each celebrant receiving a special certificate, will be taken by an APICS photographer. Soon after the event, the photos will be posted on the various APICS social media pages for students to view and print at their own convenience. Students will indicate on the registration form if they allow for the release of their photo on the APICS social media pages.
To participate in the 2017 Asian Pacific Islander Celebration of Success, students must complete and submit the free registration form online before May 3, 2017.
