Voice

  • Sing two pieces of contrasting styles from different time periods (5 minute max total for both pieces)

  • Repertoire should be selected from the classical tradition (i.e., no repertoire from a popular idiom or hymns from a hymnal); one of the two selections may be from musical theatre, if desired

  • Both pieces must be memorized

  • We will accommodate all requests for an accompanist (you are allowed to provide your own accompanist if you wish) provided the sheet music is submitted by Sunday, March 2 (11:59pm) to Mr. Kela (aarne.kela@fresnocitycollege.edu)

  • Pre-recorded accompaniment tracks will not be permitted

Instrumental or Commercial Music

  • Play one or two pieces (of contrasting styles - 5 minutes max total)

  • Commercial music submissions should reflect the guidance/approval of the Commercial Music Faculty

  • Additional information will be sent/requested the week of March 3, 2025 The information/prescreening video deadline for applicants is Friday, March 21 (11:59 pm)

  • All students must submit a prescreening video, not to exceed one minute, that contains an excerpt(s) from the repertoire you intend on performing live: uploaded by Sunday, March 23, 2025 (11:59 pm)

  • All audition applications are subject to review and approval by the faculty before you a receive a scheduled audition time. An email with the live audition schedule will be sent the week of March 31.

  • Notification of your scheduled audition time (if applicable) for Friday, April 4-5, will be sent out via the email you provided on your application (FCC students: we will use your school email)

  • Audition(s) are performed in person. Video auditions will be granted on an individual basis (by request). Please contact Paul Lucckesi to request a video submission by March 2 (11:59). (paul.lucckesi@fresnocitycollege.edu) Video submissions are due by Sunday, March 30 (11:59)

  • The Professor Emeritus scholarship ($500) requires a written response. Please email your response to the prompt below to paul.lucckesi@fresnocitycollege.edu by Sunday, March 30, 2025 (11:59pm)

    • “Please describe your experiences as a music major at FCC, including music coursework completed, ensemble participation, and recital performances. How have these prepared you for the educational or professional path ahead of you? What challenges lie ahead for you as you pursue your degree? How would this scholarship award affect your plans?”
