Know Your Rights!

If you are approached by someone asking you for information about a student or employee: 

  • Do not provide them with any information about students or staff. You are not authorized to release information about students or staff. This includes identifying students in a course. 
  • Ask the individual who they are and who they represent. If they say immigration or any law enforcement agency, get their name and credential, and notify the college president's office at (559) 489-2212, AND the SCCCD police department, (559) 244-5911
  • Be polite and professional, and do not lie to immigration or law enforcement officer or agent. 

You can say:

  • "California law and campus administrative policies do not authorize me to share student or employee information. Please come with me to the college president's office."
  • Follow directions provided by the president's office or campus police
    department.

Important Notice:

If you receive a call from immigration hotline (559-243-7125), please be advised that it is not from our organization. We do not contact individuals in this manner, and any request for personal information or action is not legitimate. We urge you to avoid engaging with the caller and do not provide any personal details or follow any instructions they give. 

If you suspect fraudulent activity, please hang up immediately and report the incident to the appropriate authorities.
