Office of the President
Welcome to California’s first Community College! As the interim president of Fresno City College (FCC), I pledge to continue the rich tradition of academic excellence and student success that began in 1910. I have dedicated my career to promoting equitable access to higher education and creating a culture of equity and inclusivity for everyone.
Allow me to tell you a little about myself, I have been in higher education for over 30 years, which includes most recently, serving as the President of Clovis Community College. Prior to coming to Clovis, I was the Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Equity at Arkansas State University Three Rivers (ASUTR) and Vice President of Student Affairs at ASUTR . I also served as Dean of Student Services at Black Hawk College and research faculty at the University of Illinois, Champaign- Urbana, both in Illinois.
As I have been a part of this great central valley community for over a year and a half, I am thrilled and energized to continue to serve the community of Fresno and work alongside faculty, staff, and administrators who are dedicated to improving the lives of our students here at FCC.
As your interim college president, I am committed to ensuring that our mission and vision are realized. I believe that we as institutions of higher education are the catalyst required to meet the economic demands of the region. During my tenure at FCC, I will continue to prioritize the college's mission to provide access to equity-centered, quality, innovative educational programs, and services.
It has been my personal and professional goal to stimulate the cultural, social, and economic development of our students and community. I plan to continue to work with our diverse community stakeholders to ensure our students have access to a quality education and jobs that allow them to have the economic prosperity they deserve.
I am looking forward to meeting you as you begin or complete your education at Fresno City College.
Go Rams!
Kim E. Armstrong, Ph.D.
