Campus Message: January, 2017
Office of the President
Welcome
Dear Colleagues,
Good afternoon and Happy New Year! I hope that this New Year is off to a good start for you and yours.
I know that many of you have come back to work perhaps a little unsure as to what the future may hold. I can tell you this, the future has never looked brighter for Fresno City College. Tomorrow you will learn more about our future, staffing, partnerships and initiatives that will continue to build on Fresno City College’s legacy of being California’s FIRST Community College.
I hope to see many of you at our spring convocation tomorrow morning, starting with breakfast at 8:00 am in OAB 251.
As many of you in Student Services prepare to work with students during Extreme Registration, I want to assure you that your work is recognized and that your work is important. Did you see the Fresno Bee? We made their Top 5 Things To Do Today list!
You may recall before we went on winter break, I announced that unfortunately we had another failed administrative search for our Vice President of Student Services (VPSS). I’m happy to report that we have secured an outstanding individual who will come and serve as our Interim VPSS while we continue to search for a permanent Vice President. Tomorrow, I will provide more details regarding the experience and qualifications both for this new interim as well as the new Interim Dean of Instruction, Student Success & Learning to backfill Renée Craig-Marius position while she is on loan to Reedley College.
If you work in Student Services, or the Library, please join me for a special meeting in OAB 251 at 1:00 pm.
Thank you for your dedicated service as we begin a new semester!
