Student Resources: Planning for Virtual Learning with Canvas
Greetings,
Fresno City College is putting your health and safety first as we plan for virtual teaching and learning to begin on March 23, 2020.
What does that mean?
Classes are postponed until March 23, 2020. This includes classes that were set to start on Monday, March 16. We are taking this week to make preparations and returning with Instruction on March 23. Student Services remains open and is preparing and moving to remote instruction and services. As you are all aware, there are many changes around us that are requiring tremendous patience, faith, and flexibility. We've created these resources for you so that you can prepare to continue on your path with Fresno City College.
Here is what you can do:
- Learn how to use Canvas in "Passport to Canvas for FCC Students." This is a free course. It is NOT required but will help you learn about using Canvas.
- Go through "Quest for Success." Many students have already gone through Quest but if you have not, we recommend you do. This is a free course. It is NOT required but you can gain confidence with ways to use virtual learning temporarily.
These courses both work fully on a mobile device.
We are working as swiftly as we can to bring instruction and student services back to you. Please check your SCCCD portal, FCC's webpage and this Canvas site regularly for more information. Things are changing and happening quickly and we are doing our best to share those changes with you.
We realize not everyone has resources for virtual learning and we are actively seeking solutions for all students. Please hang in there.
Most sincerely,
Dr. Carole Goldsmith
