Special Message from the President
Office of the President
Dear FCC Colleagues,
It is with deepest sadness and regret that I inform you of the loss of one of our students, Hannah Pimentel. You may have seen or heard the news of the heartbreaking loss of Hannah who died in a fatal automobile collision earlier this week. She was a 19 year old student well on her way to earning a Business degree in Marketing-Fashion Merchandising. Hannah's tragic passing is almost unimaginable. By all accounts she was an amazing young woman. She was doing what we tell all young people to do – go to college, be a good person, wear your seatbelt. Yet, a fatal collision, was caused by someone who by all accounts, hasn’t made the same life choices as Hannah.
We know you are hurting.
Please know that we want to support you during this time. Counseling and support services are available to all members of the FCC community. Students can reach Counseling and Psychological services by calling 559.443.8687. Dr. Montano and the Psychological Services team is here for our students. If you know of a student who would like to talk with someone, please share this web page for Psychological Services to schedule an appointment.
In addition, on Monday, May 17, Psychological Services intern, Brandon Landry, has scheduled a Talking Circle Zoom meeting entitled Grief and Loss at noon for those who would like this support.
Fresno City College wants to remind all employees that the State Center Community College District offers a variety of support services through our Employee Assistance Program that you can utilize.
We wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to her family and her many friends. Please keep them in your thoughts in the following days.
Stay well,
Dr. Carole Goldsmith
President
