Message from the President: August 7, 2023
Good afternoon, Fresno City College Faculty and Staff,
Thank you all for a successful first day of classes! The 2023-2024 year will be great for Fresno City College. I can already tell by all the activities happening throughout the campus and at the West Fresno Center and First Responders Campus which are opening for the first time today.
Our enrollment is strong. Our main campus is robust and lively. The West Fresno Center and the First Responders Campus are both very busy. As of today, we are at 99.6% of our expected total enrollment. We said we would grow by 8.2% from last year and with everyone’s hard work, we did!
Enrollment and retention of students continue to be the priority for all of us as we strive to regain our 2019 pre-COVID enrollment. We must connect with our students to keep them engaged, to get them to the finish line! Over the past three years, we have had record-breaking graduations. I hope this trend continues as our graduates contribute to the economic success of our service area! Fresno City College is the college that drives economic development for our region. Let’s continue to help our students achieve their goals so we can change the statistics for Fresno!
If you haven’t yet visited the West Fresno Center or the First Responders Campus, you may want to take a drive out to see the difference our college is making in our communities.
Wishing all of you the best fall semester!
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert Pimentel
President
