Embedded Tutoring

For Specific Classes

An embedded tutor is a tutor who is partnered with one instructor, attends classes, and conducts weekly study sessions specifically for students in that particular class.

Study sessions give students the opportunity to actively engage with their peers from the class on course-related material including homework, helpful study guides, worksheets, and practice exams.  Embedded tutoring is available online and on-campus for many math courses.

For online embedded tutoring sessions please visit the Online Math Support Center to get connected to your tutor. For on-campus embedded tutoring sessions visit us in the Tutorial Center, Li-134.

Drop-in Tutoring

For All Math, Physics, Engineering and Computer Science Students

Math, physics, engineering, and computer science tutors are staffed online and on-campus during all tutorial center open hours of operation and students are welcome to drop in and work one-on-one with a certified, trained tutor.

Visit the Online Math Support Center to get connected to a tutor virtually or visit us in the Tutorial Center, Li-134 to work with a drop-in tutor in person.

Jumpstart

3-Day Workshop

JumpStart is a FREE 3-day workshop that covers skills students need to be successful in their math classes.  Students have the opportunity to work with FCC math tutors to brush up on foundational skills needed for their upcoming math class and learn about services that are available to help them succeed.

JumpStart sessions are held 2 weeks prior to the start of the fall and spring semesters. Students, who are enrolled in classes that JumpStart is available for, will receive an email with registration instructions.
