Verification of Enrollment, Degree, or GPA

Verifications requested from Fresno City College will only include the number of units enrolled in and number of units completed for the requested term(s) taken within the State Center Community College District (SCCCD), which includes Fresno City College, the Career & Technology Center (CTC), the First Responders Campus, the West Fresno Center, the FCC Training Institute, Clovis Community College and the Herndon Campus, Madera Community College and the Oakhurst Center, Reedley College, and other associated sites within the District.

Processing normally takes seven (7) to fourteen (14) business days. Verifications requested at the start or end of a semester may take twenty-one (21) business days. Do not include holidays or other campus closures in the expected processing time.

Please check Self-Service in your My Portal under Academics - Registration Eligibility to ensure you do not have any Business Office Holds as we cannot begin to process your verification request until any fees owed to the college have been paid. If you have outstanding financial obligations, including payment plans, you will not be provided with verifications until the hold is cleared by the Business office.


Types of Verifications

Enrollment or Non-Enrollment

Enrollment and Non-Enrollment verifications are the most common type of verification and are used to verify your enrollment or lack thereof in classes. It is used to satisfy requirements for scholarships, government programs, student status for insurance, and other similar purposes.

Degree

Degree verifications are generally requested to verify a degree for employment purposes or for certain government programs.

Grade Point Average (GPA)

GPA verifications are most commonly needed for Cal Grants, scholarships and other government programs.

Cal Grant GPA verification will be sent automatically and electronically when the students has:

  • Completed 16 or more Cal Grant units within the State Center Community College District by the end of the previous semester
  • Started their attendance with State Center Community College District within the last three years

If you need to include units from other colleges to meet your qualifying units in the verification, you must request that they be included in writing or by submitting the Request a Verification form. Otherwise, if you meet the criteria in the bullets, a request form need not be submitted.

Complete the online Request Verification Form. Be sure to select the type of verification needed (Enrollment, Degree, or GPA). Incomplete forms will delay processing.

Request Verification by mail or fax

To request a verification in writing, send a dated and signed letter (Your signature is REQUIRED) to the Admissions & Records Office that includes:

  • Your name (and any other name used while attending a college in the State Center Community College District)
  • Date-of-birth
  • Student ID number (preferred) or full Social Security Number (SSN)
  • Current address and Phone Number
  • The exact mailing address or Fax number where your verification should be mailed or faxed.
  • The type of verification needed (Enrollment, Non-Enrollment, Degree, or GPA).
  • Your signature
