About
Hiromi Iyoda was born in a small town in Japan. Growing up with a modest background, a sketchbook and coloring pencils were the best toys to play with. She was always creative and inventive to make her own toys. Eventually, Hiromi traveled to the United States to further her education. Hiromi attended multiple residencies such as Red Star studio Kansas City, Niv Art Centre India, Archie Bray Foundation Montana, and Houston Center for contemporary craft, and Iowa Ceramics Center. She is currently a full time ceramic professor at Fresno City College. Hiromi makes figurative and narrative clay sculptures and her work is based mostly on her past and current life experiences.
