Dr. Fuertes Arboix is a native of Vilafranca del Penedès in the Barcelona province of Catalonia. She holds two philological degrees: one in German Language and Literature from the University of Barcelona and another in Spanish Language and Literature from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She earned her PhD in 19th-century Spanish literature at The Ohio State University and holds a Master’s degree in Mediation and Conflict Resolution from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Dr. Fuertes Arboix has been teaching Spanish language, literature, and cultural studies since 2007. She was an Associate Professor at Coe College, Iowa, from 2007 to 2019.

In 2023, Dr. Fuertes Arboix joined Fresno City College, where she currently teaches German and Spanish in the Foreign Language Department. A dynamic and results-oriented humanities professor, she is passionate about promoting learning and fostering multicultural awareness. She is committed to providing quality instruction based on individual student needs, empowering them to succeed and achieve their goals.
