Geography Instructor Sean Boyd is a native of Sacramento, California. His ‘first act’ was in radio and television in both Fresno and Bakersfield, with nearly 30 years of weather broadcasting experience. His ‘second act’ is teaching at FCC, where he has enjoyed imparting his passion for Weather and Climate and Physical Geography to his students since 2006. His B.A. in Geography is from Fresno State, where he also took several post-baccalaureate courses in Geology, Hydrology, and Biogeography. He also earned a 40-unit Broadcast Meteorology Certificate from Mississippi State University. Proof. Boyd enjoys travel with his wife, Janice, and spending time with 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. His academic interests include, but are not limited to: Dust storms in the San Joaquin Valley; California water issues, especially as they pertain to climate change; and, geographic literacy. Oh, yes – and, he likes listening to the Grateful Dead Channel on Sirius XM Radio.
