Flamin' Hot Cheetos. They're all the rage. Now meet the man who invented them.

Fresno City College's Speakers Forum presents innovator and corporate leader Richard Montañez appearing on Monday, Oct. 28 in the Old Administration Building Auditorium at 12 p.m.

Montañez began his career as a janitor at Frito-Lay in 1976, but he is best known for creating the intensely popular and extremely lucrative "Flamin' Hot" line of products. From the shelves of your local grocery store to now dominating food fare at the Fresno Fair, Flamin' Hot Cheetos are everywhere. 

His big discovery brought fame and prominence to Montañez who eventually worked his way up the corporate ladder to become Vice President of Multicultural Sales & Community Activation for PepsiCo Inc. North America. His story will soon become a major motion picture directed by Eva Longoria.

Montañez has won the PepsiCo Chairman's Award four times, become the executive sponsor of Adalante, PepsiCo's Latino and Hispanic employee group, and delved into philanthropy by founding Onelite, which provides school supplies and food to families in the United States. 

He has also taken up the mantle of activism by becoming the first Latino board member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, a civil rights organization. Montañez has also helped develop the first Frito-Lay Hispanic marketing team that helped promote items in KFC and Taco Bell. 

Admission is free and a meet and greet will follow the main event. There will be relaxed parking in lots B, C and D for the event.
