Take a magical journey with the classic story of The Little Prince
The Fresno City College Theatre Arts Department brings to life the classic children's story, The Little Prince. The play is based on the bestselling novella from 1943 called Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Directed by Janine Christl, this beloved story takes all castaways on a journey of tears and laughter to explore themes of love, never losing your inner child, and learning to treasure what truly matters.
"The Little Prince embraces the open-mindedness of children in a world filled with assumptions and conclusions. It reminds us that `it is only with the heart that one can see clearly. Anything that is important is invisible to the eye,' "Christl states.
The magical story begins when a lost aviator crashes his airplane in the middle of the Sahara Desert and meets the Little Prince, a young boy from a faraway asteroid. As the aviator struggles to fix his airplane, he listens to the charismatic. Little Prince recount his epic travels across the galaxy hopping from one planet to the next and everyone he met, including a fox who wishes to be tamed.
A colorful backdrop for the show includes elements of puppetry, innovative movement and projections.
