Fresno City College is in the homestretch this week as the beginning of the Spring 2021 semester fast approaches next Monday, January 11. Students who still want to sign up for classes have until Friday to enroll through the online system and can enroll by contacting the instructor after the semester begins. Full-time 18-week classes begin the week of January 11 with late starting classes beginning February 1 and short-term classes beginning in March. Go to www.fresnocitycollege.edu/spring.
There are still plenty of opportunities this week to get help online or by phone. The last two days of FCC’s Virtual Extreme Registration will be held Tuesday, January 5 and Wednesday, January 6 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. While students can contact the college any day for assistance, a special group of counselors and advisers will be immediately on hand during the Virtual Extreme Registration days. Also, this week is the Ram Ready New Student Welcome January 4-7. This virtual event will feature digital resources and live activities. The event designed to assist students in preparing for the upcoming semester by providing opportunities to interact with faculty and staff to ask questions and receive useful information. Fresno City College will continue to offer classes online this Spring semester. If any student should find difficulties with online classes, they are encouraged to seek assistance with a number of online services to help them succeed including tutoring, Library services, the Writing and Reading Center, and counseling. Additionally, the college is loaning technology to students who may need a laptop, iPad or a WiFi hotspot.
Free flu shots for all FCC students will resume the first week of January. Students should call the FCC Health Services office to get details on how to receive the flu vaccination. 559-442-8268.
While it is encouraging that our community is now starting to receive COVID-19 vaccinations, it is unknown when the FCC campus will reopen and when classes will resume in person. For the time being we encourage all to follow pandemic protocol in order to reduce the spread of the infection.
