Homecoming to Honor 1972 State Championship Team
The 2022 All-Sports Homecoming game is this Saturday, October 15 in Ratcliffe Stadium with kick off at 1:00 p.m. Join us for the fun as the Fresno City College Rams take on the College of the Sequoias Giants.
This year, the players and head coach Tony Caviglia celebrate the 74th season of Ram Football excellence. Also, 2022 marks another very special anniversary, the 50th Anniversary of the 1972 Rams football State Championship win against Pasadena City College. Players from that championship team will be special guests at Homecoming and will participate in the coin toss.
The Rams won the California Community College State Football Championship on December 9, 1972 in a game played in Bakersfield beating Pasadena 21-7. The win came under the leadership of legendary coach Clare Slaughter and his legendary assistant coaches, Bill Musick, Billy Wayte and Jack Maddox.
Homecoming festivities prior to the game will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the grass area in front of Ratcliffe Stadium (near Blackstone Avenue). They will continue until 12:30 p.m. Ram fans will enjoy tailgate activities including food vendors and kid’s activities. In addition, the Second II None Motorcycle Club will be on hand displaying their bikes.
All FCC athletic teams will be there and will participate in the traditional parade of athletes during halftime along with the Second II None Motorcycle Club.
Tickets are $10 General, $1 Student w/ID, $7 Staff and Seniors, and $1 Kids 6-12.
