West Fresno Center Monumental Moments
Join artist Teresa Flores as she leads two upcoming community engagement events where all are invited to share stories related to West Fresno. Print photos, record stories and write or draw your favorite places, people, businesses, memories, and visions for the future of your neighborhood! These “monumental moments” will help inspire the art that will adorn the Fresno City College West Fresno Center’s new fountain.
Friday August 26, 4-6PM at BBQ Bob – Participate in the story and memory sharing through our recording booth, photo sharing, and drawing and writing stations. Participants receive a BBQ meal!

Tuesday, October 4, 11AM--2PM at FCC Art Space Gallery – where all are invited to share stories related to West Fresno. Print photos, tell stories and write or draw your favorite places, people, businesses, memories, and visions for the future of your neighborhood! These “monumental moments” will help inform the art that will adorn the Fresno City College West Fresno Center’s new fountain. This is intended to be a drop-in workshop and was previously scheduled for September 13th. Light refreshments will be provided.
Location: Fresno City College, Art Space Gallery (AH101), The Art Space Gallery is located in the Art and Home Economics building, next to the main fountain. Interactive Campus Map: Art Space Gallery
These events are a partnership between artist Teresa Flores, State Center Community College District, Fresno City College, FCC's Art Space Gallery, and community partners BBQ Bob, Fresno Housing Authority's Dignity Team, California Avenue Neighborhood (CAN), Transforming Climate Communities (TCC), and Community Media Access Cooperative (CMAC).
Teresa Flores is a graduate of Fresno City College and Fresno State and holds a Social Practice MFA from Otis College of Art and Design which she uses to work with communities to build visibility through art, imagine a better world and encourage creative action for joy and survival.

About the West Fresno Center: The Fresno City College West Fresno Center is located at the southeast corner of Church and Walnut avenues. It will house a 110,000 square foot state-of-the-art academic and career technical satellite facility providing much needed access to the community’s diverse educational opportunities. Construction is expected to be completed in Spring 2023 with the first classes starting in Fall 2023.
