Fresno City College will hold an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Welcome Center, created to help new students navigate the enrollment process. The Welcome Center is next to the new parking structure at 1525 E. Weldon, near the corner of Blackstone and Weldon avenues.
The Ribbon Cutting will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 10 a.m. Tours will be provided, and light refreshments will be served.
The Welcome Center will serve new students who have never taken classes at FCC or any other SCCCD college since graduating from high school; have earned a GED; or want to attend college for the first time.
“Having a Welcome Center will initiate a transformative experience for our future students and the community at large,” said Dr. Lataria Hall, Vice President of Student Services. “By providing a ‘one-stop’ centralized hub for information, support, and guidance, the Welcome Center will serve as a gateway to a college experience that is welcoming, inclusive, and empowering.”
The FCC Outreach, Onboarding & Student Engagement team (College Relations) runs the Welcome Center with staff on hand to personally assist students.
Services include:
Additionally, the Welcome Center houses the Office of Early College, which oversees both dual enrollment and high school enrichment programs. The FCC Copy Center and Mailroom also relocated to the renovated facility.
