Description - AJ 263

This 40-hour course is designed to teach law enforcement personnel to safely and effectively fly small unmanned aircraft systems (suas) in the national airspace with an emphasis on tactics relating to law enforcement daytime and nighttime operations. This course will also satisfy the faa’s requirements for basic training for remote pilots and visual observers. Material fees and parking fees may be applicable.

Prerequisites

A California Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Course certificate issued from an accredited regional police academy or equivalent as determined by the division Dean or their appointee. These skills and knowledge base are related to adopted POST and/or industry standards. NOTE: Approval of equivalent training is not a guarantee state regulatory or licensing agencies will also grant equivalency.
