Mission Statement
The African American Faculty and Staff Association (AAFSA) is dedicated to promote and support the academic and professional development of the faculty, staff, and students at Fresno City College (FCC).
Vision Statement
AAFSA will be a viable association in the FCC community that contributes to student cultural growth and academic success while creating a collaborative environment amongst faculty and staff with a maximized presence in the surrounding community.

Black History Month

Black History Month is a month-long celebration held every February and organized by the African American Faculty and Staff Association. This annual event honors the legacy, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans through a series of educational and cultural programs.

Our annual celebration organized by the Fresno City College African American Faculty and Staff Association to honor the achievements of our African American graduates. This meaningful event brings together students, families, and the community to celebrate academic success, cultural pride, and the rich traditions of the African American experience.
AAFSA GraduationUMOJA

We are proud to be part of the Umoja Community, a statewide initiative dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African American and other students. Through our IDILE and SYMBAA programs, Umoja supports student success with a curriculum rooted in the legacy of the African and African American diaspora. Students in these programs receive personalized support, academic guidance, and a strong sense of community designed to empower their journey toward transfer, degree completion, and lifelong achievement.
